How Manifestation Helped Me Heal Trauma and Find Self-Love

·

Manifestation became a huge part of my healing journey, especially as I worked through trauma. It felt like a way to regain control over my life—something I desperately needed after everything I had been through. When the world felt uncertain, manifestation gave me hope. It made me feel like I had the power to shape my future, and at first, I used it in the way most young girls do dreaming about small, exciting things.

How I Started Manifesting

At first, my manifestations were random. I wished for trips to my favorite places, outfits I wanted, and changes in my environment. I wasn’t even aware that I was doing something deeper than just wanting material things. But over time, as I practiced different methods, I started to notice something: I was actually learning to love and appreciate myself more.

Some of the techniques I used included:

  • The 369 Method – Writing down what I wanted 3 times in the morning, 6 times in the afternoon, and 9 times at night to reinforce my belief in it.
  • Writing Letters to the Universe – Pouring out my desires in letter form, as if I was writing to a friend who had the power to make my dreams come true.
  • Scripting – Journalling about my dream life in the present tense, as if I was already living it.

At first, these practices felt like simple exercises, but looking back, I can see that they were rewiring my brain.

The Science Behind Manifestation and Healing

Manifestation isn’t just about wishing for things and hoping they magically appear. There’s actual science behind why it works. Practices like scripting and visualization activate the Reticular Activating System (RAS) in the brain, which helps filter information and focus on what’s important. This is why, when we repeatedly think about something, we start noticing opportunities and signs that align with it.

Additionally, writing down goals and affirmations helps reprogram the subconscious mind, which plays a huge role in our beliefs and behaviors. Studies in neuroplasticity show that our brains can form new connections and reshape old patterns. Even the ones created by trauma. So, by focusing on positive outcomes and self-love through manifestation, I was actually retraining my brain to believe in a better future.

How Manifestation Helped Heal My Inner Child

Somewhere along the way, I realized that manifestation wasn’t just about getting things. It was about healing. Through these practices, I had unknowingly done deep inner work. I had reconnected with the younger version of myself who had been hurt, scared, and unsure of her worth.

By visualizing a future where I was happy, successful, and loved, I was showing my inner child that she was safe. That she was worthy. And that life had so much beauty to offer. I had manifested not just material things, but a mindset of gratitude, self-love, and appreciation for life itself.

The Biggest Lesson I Learned

Manifestation is often seen as just a way to attract things, but for me, it became a way to rebuild myself. I manifested confidence, joy, and healing. I realized that the most powerful thing I had ever manifested wasn’t a trip or an outfit—it was the ability to love my life again.

If you’re struggling with trauma or self-doubt, I encourage you to try manifestation—not just for the things you want, but for the person you want to become. Because sometimes, what we’re truly manifesting is the version of ourselves who finally feels whole.

Looking back, I realize that manifestation wasn’t just about bringing things into my life—it was about bringing myself back to life. It wasn’t the trips or the outfits that changed me. It was the way I started showing up for myself, the way I started believing in my own worth, and the way I rewired my mind to focus on the good.

Healing from trauma can feel overwhelming, like you’re constantly fighting to stay afloat. But manifestation gave me something to hold onto. It showed me that I could create a future I was excited about, even when my past tried to tell me otherwise. It helped me shift my focus from what had hurt me to what could heal me.

If you’re going through something, I hope you know that you have the power to change your story. Start small—write down what you want, visualize the life you dream of, and remind yourself every day that you are worthy of it. Because the real magic of manifestation isn’t in the things you attract. It’s in the person you become along the way.

Remember, it all starts with self love
